Jonathan Gorstein (PhD), Visits Glytabs!
Glytabs Consulting Limited and its sister company, our NGO CAFSANI, had the pleasure of receiving Dr Jonathan Gorstein of the Gates Foundation from Seattle, Washington D. C. on Monday, 4th March 2024.
Jonathan is a Senior Program Officer in the Global Nutrition team at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). He also serves on the global task force for the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as several editorial boards of international public health nutrition journals. He was formerly an Executive Director with the Iodine Global Network.
It was a very insightful session highlighting Glytabs’ and CAFSANI’s activities in the Nigerian landscape over the years, both the challenges and achievements, including a review of our involvement in various project initiatives and investments of the BMGF in the Nigerian environment, all aimed at ensuring an improved food system with safer and more nutritious foods for all. It was also an opportunity for an extensive discussion on the recently released preliminary results of the 2021 National Food Consumption and Micronutrient Survey (NFCMS) and the progress on Bouillon Fortification in Nigeria. The company’s activities on the biofortification knowledge dissemination and advocacy projects carried out in collaboration with HarvestPlus also piqued his interest.
The Founder/President of CAFSANI, who is also the CEO of Glytabs Consulting Ltd, Professor Olugbenga Ogunmoyela, is the current Chairman of the Country Working Group (CWG) on Bouillon Fortification.
