WORLD VISION GHANA LAUNCHES ‘ENOUGH’ CAMPAIGN TO COMBAT CHILD HUNGER AND MALNUTRITION

Madam Laura Del Valle, National Director at World Vision Ghana, announced the launch of the ‘ENOUGH’ campaign, a three-year initiative aimed at improving food security for vulnerable children. With a commitment of $3.5 million, the campaign seeks to address the rising national stunting rate, underweight children, and food insecurity in Ghana (businessghana.com).

Madam Laura emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues, citing the recent Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability Analysis. She outlined the campaign’s vision: to ensure every child has access to nourishing food, making them visible and heard in hunger, nutrition, and food security policies.

The campaign will focus on prioritized services, including nutrition-appropriate food and cash assistance, and school meal programs with nutritious, locally sourced food. Madam Laura acknowledged the enormity of the task and called for collaboration among stakeholders, including the government, donors, development partners, and faith leaders.

Deputy Minister for Health, Mr. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, congratulated World Vision on the innovative campaign and pledged the ministry’s support. He highlighted the campaign’s alignment with the government’s vision of achieving universal health coverage and its focus on promoting dietary diversity and nutrition-sensitive agriculture.

Glytabs Consulting hopes that this laudable initiative will receive the required recognition and collaboration from stakeholders to enable the realization of the intended objectives, as well as the sustainability of the program.
